Aurva Episode: Restoration of Sight and Restraint of World-Destructive Anger
vede dhanuṣi cācāryam abhijānāmi te 'rjuna | viśrutaṃ triṣu lokeṣu bhāradvājaṃ yaśasvinam ||
Gandharva nói: “Hỡi Arjuna, ta biết rõ vị thầy đã dạy ngươi Veda và thuật cung tên—Droṇa, người con lẫy lừng của Bharadvāja—bậc hiển danh vang khắp ba cõi.”
The verse underscores the authority and stature of a true ācārya: mastery of sacred knowledge (Veda) and disciplined skill (archery) together earn enduring renown, and a student’s excellence is rooted in such guidance.
A Gandharva addresses Arjuna and identifies Droṇa—Arjuna’s instructor in both Vedic learning and archery—as a celebrated figure known across the three worlds, thereby acknowledging Arjuna’s prestigious lineage of training.
