संवरणस्य पतनं, सचिवोपचारः, वसिष्ठस्य सूर्योपगमनम्

तदहं प्रज्ञया ज्ञात्वा बल॑ भीमस्य पाण्डव । प्रतिकार्ये च विप्रस्य तत: कृतवती मतिम्‌,अतः पाण्डुनन्दन! मैंने भीमसेनके बलको अपनी बुद्धिसे भलीभाँति समझकर तब ब्राह्मणके शत्रुरूपी राक्षससे बदला लेनेका निश्चय किया है

tad ahaṃ prajñayā jñātvā balaṃ bhīmasya pāṇḍava | pratikārye ca viprasya tataḥ kṛtavatī matim ||

Sau khi dùng trí xét rõ sức mạnh của Bhīma, hỡi Pāṇḍava, ta liền quyết định thực hiện sự báo trả xứng đáng thay cho vị brāhmaṇa—đền lại cho con rākṣasa ăn thịt người đã trở thành kẻ thù của ông. Quyết định ấy được đặt trên sự cân nhắc và bổn phận: bảo hộ kẻ yếu và khôi phục trật tự đạo lý, chứ không phải hành động vì cơn giận mù quáng.
