मन्दर-समुद्रमन्थन-वर्णनम् / Description of the Churning of the Ocean with Mount Mandara
न करिष्यस्यनड़ू वा व्यज्रं वापि तपस्विनम् । और मा! यह जो दूसरे अण्डेमें तेरा पुत्र है, यही तुझे दासीभावसे छुटकारा दिलायेगा किंतु माता! ऐसा तभी हो सकता है जब तू इस तपस्वी पुत्रको मेरी ही तरह अण्डा फोड़कर अंगहीन या अधूरे अंगोंसे युक्त न बना देगी
na kariṣyasi naḍū vā vyajraṃ vāpi tapasvinam | aur mā! yaḥ yo dvitīye aṇḍe tava putraḥ, sa eva tvāṃ dāsībhāvāt mocayiṣyati; kintu mātaḥ, tad evaṃ bhaviṣyati yadi tvaṃ imaṃ tapasvinaṃ putraṃ mamaiva iva aṇḍaṃ sphoṭayitvā aṅgahīnaṃ vā adhūraiḥ aṅgaiḥ yuktaṃ na kariṣyasi ||
Śaunaka nói: “Xin đừng làm vậy—đừng phá vỏ trứng khi chưa đến lúc, và đừng làm tổn hại đứa con khổ hạnh ấy. Mẹ ơi, người con trong quả trứng thứ hai của mẹ chính là kẻ sẽ giải thoát mẹ khỏi thân phận nô lệ. Nhưng, mẹ ơi, điều ấy chỉ có thể thành nếu mẹ đừng như đã làm với con: đừng đập trứng khiến đứa con tu khổ hạnh này sinh ra tàn tật hay thiếu khuyết tay chân.”
