वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights ethical sensitivity in grief: Madri seeks a private conversation with Kunti, implying discretion, emotional care, and protection of the children from distressing matters—an aspect of dharma expressed through compassion and responsible speech.
Vaiśampāyana narrates to King Janamejaya that Madri, sorrow-stricken, calls Kunti and asks her to come alone while the children stay where they are, setting up an intimate exchange amid a tragic situation.
