Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)
तव व्विदं मतं मत्वा प्रयतिष्याम्यतः परम् | मन्ये ध्रुवं मयोक्ता सा वचन प्रतिपत्स्यते,परंतु आज इस विषयमें तुम्हारी सम्मति जानकर अब मैं इसके लिये प्रयत्न करूँगा। मुझे विश्वास है, मेरे कहनेपर कुन्तीदेवी निश्चय ही मेरी बात मान लेंगी
tava vvidaṃ mataṃ matvā prayatiṣyāmy ataḥ param | manye dhruvaṃ mayoktā sā vacanaṃ pratipatsyate ||
“Nay đã hiểu rõ ý kiến chín chắn của nàng, từ đây ta sẽ càng gắng sức hơn. Ta tin chắc rằng khi ta cất lời, Kuntī Devī ắt sẽ thuận theo—nàng sẽ chấp nhận lời ta.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic decision-making through consultation and respectful effort: one should understand another’s counsel, then act with resolve while relying on persuasion and trust rather than force.
Vaiśampāyana reports a speaker who, after learning the listener’s opinion, resolves to make further efforts and expresses confidence that Kuntī will accept his proposal when he speaks to her.
