शृण्वतां सर्वभूतानां तेषां चाश्रमवासिनाम् | कुन्तीमाभाष्य विस्पष्टमुवाचेदं शुचिस्मिताम्,कुमार अर्जुनके जन्म लेते ही अत्यन्त गम्भीर नादसे समूचे आकाशको गूँजाती हुई आकाशवाणीने पवित्र मुसकानवाली कुन्तीदेवीको सम्बोधित करके समस्त प्राणियों और आश्रमवासियोंके सुनते हुए अत्यन्त स्पष्ट भाषामें इस प्रकार कहा--
śṛṇvatāṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ teṣāṃ cāśramavāsinām | kuntīm ābhāṣya vispaṣṭam uvācedaṃ śucismitām ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Khi muôn loài và những người cư trú nơi ẩn viện đang lắng nghe, một tiếng nói đã gọi Kuntī—người có nụ cười thanh khiết—và nói với nàng bằng lời lẽ rõ ràng, không thể lầm lẫn.
