Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 115 — Mādri’s request; invocation of the Aśvins; birth and naming of the Pāṇḍavas
समुत्पन्ना दैवतेभ्य: पुत्रा: पठच महारथा: । एतदू विद्वन् यथान्यायं विस्तरेण तपोधन
sam utpannā daivatebhyaḥ putrāḥ pṛthak mahārathāḥ | etad u vidvan yathānyāyaṃ vistareṇa tapodhana ||
Vua Janamejaya thưa: “Những người con ấy—mỗi người đều là một đại xa chiến sĩ—được sinh ra từ các thần linh: ôi bậc hiền trí, ôi kho tàng khổ hạnh, xin hãy kể cho ta điều ấy theo đúng thứ tự và thật đầy đủ, như lẽ phải.”
