ब्राह्मणो गुणवान् कश्चिद् धनेनोपनिमन्त्रयताम् । विचित्रवीर्यक्षेत्रेषु यः समुत्पादयेत् प्रजा:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--मात:! भरतवंशकी संतानपरम्पराको बढ़ाने और सुरक्षित रखनेके लिये जो नियत उपाय है, उसे मैं बता रहा हूँ; सुनो। किसी गुणवान्- ब्राह्मणको धन देकर बुलाओ, जो विचित्रवीर्यकी स्त्रियोंके गर्भसे संतान उत्पन्न कर सके
brāhmaṇo guṇavān kaścid dhanena upanimantrayātām | vicitravīryakṣetreṣu yaḥ samutpādayet prajāḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Thưa Mẫu thân, hãy dùng của cải mà thỉnh mời một vị brāhmaṇa đức hạnh, người có thể gieo giống để con cháu được sinh ra nơi các phu nhân của Vicitravīrya.”
