Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It presents tapas and constant smaraṇa (remembrance) as the inner foundation of Shaiva practice—purifying the pashu (individual) so that grace and auspicious outcomes arise.
Though Shiva is not named here, the verse reflects Shaiva Siddhanta’s principle that the Pati’s grace is approached through disciplined tapas and focused intention, loosening pasha (bondage) and supporting dharmic fruition.
Paramam tapaḥ with sustained smaraṇa—an ascetic-yogic discipline aligned with Pashupata-style inner steadiness, where resolve and austerity are used to attain a dharmic goal.
