ईशानकल्पवृत्तान्तः तथा लैङ्गपुराणस्य संक्षेप-सूची
शापः सत्या कृतो देवान्पुरा विष्णुं च पालितम् शुक्रोत्सर्गस्तु रुद्रस्य गाङ्गेयोद्भव एव च
śāpaḥ satyā kṛto devānpurā viṣṇuṃ ca pālitam śukrotsargastu rudrasya gāṅgeyodbhava eva ca
Thuở trước, Satyā đã giáng lời nguyền lên các chư thiên, và Viṣṇu cũng bị lời nguyền ấy kiềm chế. Còn Rudra thì có sự phóng xuất tinh lực; từ đó, đấng sinh ra từ sông Gaṅgā quả thật đã xuất hiện.
