Adhyaya 17: लिङ्गोद्भव—ब्रह्मविष्ण्वहङ्कार-शमनं, ओंकार-प्रादुर्भावः, मन्त्र-तत्त्वं च

अस्य लिङ्गादभूद्बीजम् अकारो बीजिनः प्रभोः उकारयोनौ निक्षिप्तम् अवर्धत समन्ततः

asya liṅgādabhūdbījam akāro bījinaḥ prabhoḥ ukārayonau nikṣiptam avardhata samantataḥ

Từ Liṅga này phát sinh hạt giống—chữ “A”, thuộc về Đấng Chủ Tể mang hạt giống. Khi hạt ấy được đặt vào thai tạng của “U”, nó lan nở khắp mọi phương, biểu thị sự triển khai thấm khắp của Pati (Śiva) qua Śakti, làm nền tảng cho công cuộc sáng tạo.
