Bhagīratha Brings Gaṅgā; Saudāsa’s Curse; Khaṭvāṅga’s Instant Renunciation
न मे ब्रह्मकुलात् प्राणा: कुलदैवान्न चात्मजा: । न श्रियो न मही राज्यं न दाराश्चातिवल्लभा: ॥ ४३ ॥
na me brahma-kulāt prāṇāḥ kula-daivān na cātmajāḥ na śriyo na mahī rājyaṁ na dārāś cātivallabhāḥ
Mahārāja Khaṭvāṅga nghĩ: Ngay cả mạng sống của ta cũng không quý giá đối với ta hơn văn hóa Bà-la-môn và các Bà-la-môn, những người được gia đình ta tôn thờ. Vậy thì còn nói gì đến vương quốc, đất đai, vợ con và sự giàu sang của ta nữa? Không có gì quý giá đối với ta hơn các Bà-la-môn.
