The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
This verse continues the Yadu-vaṁśa genealogy, naming children born to Sudāmanī from Samīka, and sons born to Karṇikā from Ānaka.
The Purāṇa preserves sacred lineage (vaṁśānucarita), connecting historical kings and families to the broader flow of dharma and ultimately to Krishna’s appearance and pastimes.
By seeing the Bhagavatam as a continuous sacred history—cultivating śraddhā (faith) that Krishna’s līlā is rooted in real lineages and that devotion is carried through generations.
