The Rise of Soma-vaṁśa: Budha’s Birth and Purūravā–Urvaśī; The Origin of Karma-kāṇḍa in Tretā-yuga
निवेदितोऽथाङ्गिरसा सोमं निर्भर्त्स्य विश्वकृत् । तारां स्वभर्त्रे प्रायच्छदन्तर्वत्नीमवैत् पति: ॥ ८ ॥
nivedito ’thāṅgirasā somaṁ nirbhartsya viśva-kṛt tārāṁ sva-bhartre prāyacchad antarvatnīm avait patiḥ
Khi Aṅgirā tâu bày trọn sự việc với Phạm Thiên Brahmā, đấng tạo hóa, Brahmā nghiêm khắc quở trách Soma, thần Trăng. Rồi Brahmā trao Tārā lại cho chồng nàng là Bṛhaspati; khi ấy người chồng mới hiểu rằng nàng đang mang thai.
This verse shows that Soma was chastised by Brahmā and compelled to return Tārā to her husband, emphasizing the restoration of dharma after a grave transgression.
Because Soma’s act disrupted moral order and provoked conflict among the devas; Brahmā intervened as the universal regulator to restore dharma by returning Tārā to Bṛhaspati.
Even powerful people are accountable to ethical principles; wrongdoing creates social turmoil, and genuine rectification requires restoring what was violated and accepting correction.
