श्रद्धाया दुहिता तपसोऽधि जाता स्वस ऋषीणां भूतकृतां बभूव । सा नो मेखले मतिमा धेहि मेधामथो नो धेहि तप इन्द्रियं च

śraddhā́yā duhitā́ tapáso’dhí jātā́ svasā́ ṛ́ṣīṇāṃ bhūtakṛ́tāṃ babhū́va | sā́ no mekhale matím ā́ dhehi medhā́m átho no dhehi tápa índriyáṃ ca

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Faith’s daughter, born from holy Ardour, she became the Sister of the Seers, the Makers of beings. O Mekhalā, bestow on us thought; bestow on us wisdom; yea, bestow on us ardour and vital power besides.

Translation

Nàng—con gái của Śraddhā (Đức Tin), sinh từ Tapas (nhiệt lực khổ hạnh) thánh—đã trở thành chị em của các Ṛṣi, những bậc tạo tác muôn loài. Hỡi Mekhalā, xin đặt vào chúng con tư niệm; xin ban trí tuệ minh triết; lại xin ban Tapas cùng Indriya (sinh lực, uy lực) cho chúng con nữa.
