tato vilokayāmāsa pitrā tasya vinirmitam | rāmaḥ svamiva deveśaṃ dṛṣṭvā devaṃ caturbhujam
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the sages (deduced)
Type: temple
Scene: Inside a sanctum, a radiant four-armed deity stands or sits with śaṅkha-cakra-gadā-padma; the pilgrim-king gazes with folded hands, seeing the Lord as his own chosen deity; a subtle ancestral/royal foundation motif appears in temple reliefs.
Darśana of a properly established deity (pratiṣṭhita devatā) strengthens devotion and anchors one’s dharma through reverence to sacred lineage and tradition.
A shrine within the same tīrtha-complex where a four-armed Deveśa is worshipped; the verse highlights the sanctity of its ancient foundation.
No explicit ritual beyond darśana (seeing and honoring the deity) is stated here.
