Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga

اے افضلِ مُنی! تریلوک کی स्थापना سے جو پُنّیہ حاصل ہوتا ہے، شری دیوی کی स्थापना سے اس سے کروڑ گنا پُنّیہ حاصل ہوتا ہے۔
Suta Goswami (narrating the teaching of the Umāsaṃhitā to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse is a māhātmya-style valuation of merit (puṇya) for Devī-pratiṣṭhā (installation), asserting Śakti’s central salvific efficacy within Śaiva worship.
Significance: Frames Devī-sthāpana as an exceptionally potent dharmic act that accelerates auspiciousness and eligibility for Śiva’s grace (anugraha) through Śakti’s mediation.
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse exalts Śrī Devī’s installation as an exceptionally potent act of dharma: honoring Devī (Umā), inseparable from Śiva, draws immense puṇya because it aligns the devotee with divine grace (śakti) that uplifts and purifies the bound soul (paśu) toward liberation.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, Saguna worship is complete when Śiva is revered together with His Śakti. Installing Śrī Devī complements Liṅga worship by acknowledging that Śiva’s compassion and salvific activity operate through Śakti; thus devotion becomes balanced and spiritually fruitful.
The verse points toward Devī-pratiṣṭhā (consecration/installation) and regular pūjā with purity, mantra, and devotion; practitioners may integrate Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) alongside reverence to Umā as Śiva’s Śakti for steadiness in bhakti and inner purification.
