This verse presents Śivā (Umā/Durgā) as the compassionate, world-protecting Śakti of Lord Śiva; devotion to her is shown as a direct refuge that grants protection and auspiciousness across the three worlds.
In Shaiva Siddhanta-oriented reading, Saguna worship honors Śiva together with his inseparable Śakti; praising Maheshānī affirms that grace (anugraha) and protection flow through the unified reality of Śiva-Śakti, supporting Linga worship as worship of the auspicious Lord with his power.
The verse suggests bhakti through repeated namaskāra and jaya-kāra (victory salutations); it can be used as a short stuti before japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) or before applying tripuṇḍra/bhasma as an invocation for protection.
