Cosmic Event: genealogical summation within manvantara creation narrative
By emphasizing vast lineages, the verse highlights the Purāṇic vision of an ordered cosmos where beings arise through dharma-governed creation, ultimately pointing the listener back to Pati (Śiva) as the supreme ground beyond all genealogies.
The verse functions as narrative scaffolding: after situating beings within Kaśyapa’s progeny, the Purāṇa typically leads the seeker from worldly multiplicity toward devotion to Saguna Śiva (often through Liṅga-worship) as the unifying Lord who grants liberation.
No direct rite is prescribed in this line; the practical takeaway is śravaṇa (reverent listening) and smaraṇa (remembrance) of Śiva while hearing Purāṇic accounts, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—for inner steadiness amid worldly multiplicity.
