पठेद्वा पाठयेद्वापि श्रद्धावान्भक्तिसंयुतः । इह सर्व्वसुखम्भुक्त्वा परत्र लभते गतिम्
paṭhedvā pāṭhayedvāpi śraddhāvānbhaktisaṃyutaḥ | iha sarvvasukhambhuktvā paratra labhate gatim
جو ایمان و بھکتی کے ساتھ خود اس کا پاٹھ کرے یا کسی سے کرائے، وہ اس لوک میں سب سکھ بھوگ کر پرلوک میں شیو کرپا سے پرم گتی پاتا ہے۔

The verse declares the fruit of śraddhā (faith) and bhakti (devotion) in Śiva-kathā: it grants worldly well-being while ultimately leading the devotee to gati—Śiva’s liberating refuge (mokṣa).
Recitation or hearing of Śiva’s glories supports Saguna-upāsanā—devotion to Śiva with attributes, commonly centered on the Śiva-liṅga—by strengthening faith and sustained remembrance, which culminates in Śiva’s grace-bestowed liberation.
Regular pāṭha (recitation) or śravaṇa (listening) with devotion—ideally alongside simple Śiva-upacāras such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering of bilva leaves, and maintaining purity and faith.
