अथवा किमिदं चित्रं शर्वभक्तजनेष्वहो । स्वयमाविरभूद्रुद्रो ययो रुद्रस्तदर्चितः
athavā kimidaṃ citraṃ śarvabhaktajaneṣvaho | svayamāvirabhūdrudro yayo rudrastadarcitaḥ
یا پھر اس میں کیا تعجب ہے، اے شروَ (شیو) کے بھکتو! خود رودر ظاہر ہوئے—تاکہ اسی ظہور کے ذریعے رودر (شیو) کی ارچنا ہو۔
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Sthala Purana: The verse frames a self-manifestation (svayam-āvirbhāva) of Rudra for the sake of His own worship—an archetypal Purāṇic motif behind svayambhū-liṅgas and many local liṅga-origin legends, though no specific Jyotirliṅga is named here.
Significance: Affirms that Śiva’s grace can take concrete form to make worship possible; darśana of a self-manifest sign is treated as especially merit-giving in Śaiva tīrtha culture.
The verse teaches that for Śiva’s devotees, divine revelation is natural: Rudra manifests out of grace so that devotion (bhakti) can culminate in direct worship and inner recognition of the Lord as Pati (the liberating Master).
It supports Saguna upāsanā: Śiva willingly takes an accessible form—such as a manifested presence or worship-worthy symbol like the Liṅga—so devotees can perform arcana and progress toward Śiva-realization.
The practical takeaway is steady arcana: worship Rudra with mantra-japa (especially Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offerings, and contemplative remembrance of Śiva’s compassionate self-manifestation.
