It highlights the Shaiva principle that grace (kṛpā) and humility sanctify action: a noble devotee receives what is offered with reverence, showing receptivity to dharma and the purifying power of sacred tīrtha.
In Jyotirliṅga-centered narratives of the Koṭirudrasaṃhitā, sanctified water commonly signifies abhiṣeka and tīrtha; accepting it respectfully aligns the devotee with Saguna Shiva worship through consecrated offerings and their prasāda.
Receive and honor tīrtha (consecrated water) after Shiva worship—especially after liṅga-abhiṣeka—while mentally offering gratitude to Pati (Shiva) and repeating the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
