Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: (implied) namaḥ śivāya; (six-syllabled implied) oṃ namaḥ śivāya
Type: panchakshara
Role: liberating
It teaches that Shiva (Pati) is not merely worshiped by mantra—He is realized as the very essence of mantra: the Panchakshara and the six-syllabled form, approached through disciplined limbs of practice that purify the bound soul (paśu) and loosen bondage (pāśa).
In Saguna worship, the Linga is adored with mantra-japa and mantra-nyāsa; this verse frames the Linga’s Lord as manifest through sacred sound itself, so the devotee’s recitation and ritual limbs become a direct mode of communion with Shiva’s revealed form.
Regular japa of the Panchakshara (and the six-syllabled mantra as taught in the tradition), supported by the six limbs of mantra-worship (such as nyāsa and related aṅgas), performed with devotion—especially suitable for Mahashivratri observances.
