Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: oṃ namaḥ (praṇava with namaḥ as taught here; used as the opening for Śiva-mantra-nyāsa)
Type: panchakshara
It teaches that Shiva-mantra is not only recited but inwardly installed through nyāsa—starting from the heart—so the devotee’s body-mind becomes a fit vessel for Śiva’s presence (Pati) and for loosening bondage (pāśa).
Nyāsa makes worship embodied: alongside external Liṅga-pūjā, the practitioner installs Oṁ and “namaḥ” within the limbs, treating the body as a sacred seat of Saguna Śiva for focused devotion and purity.
Recite Oṁ (a-u-ma with bindu) followed by “namaḥ”, then perform kara/anga-nyāsa beginning at the heart—mentally placing the mantra in the heart and subsequent body points before japa or pūjā.
