"Earlier I have seen monkeys of immense prowess, like Vali and Sugriva as well as Jambavan, the bear. Also I have seen the army general, Nila, Dvivida and others. They do not have such tremendous splendour or movement valour, intellect and strength and energy. They did not have such ability to change form at their will.
Respect for truth in reporting: the tradition preserves extended speech to convey the full force of an assessment without truncation.
A transmitted continuous quotation repeats the comparison of Hanumān with earlier-known Vānara heroes, emphasizing Hanumān’s exceptional powers.
Realism and strategic awareness: acknowledging superiority in an adversary to guide subsequent action.
