The Slaying of Jambumali
vipannaṁ karma tad dṛṣṭvā hanumāṁś caṇḍavikramaḥ |
sālaṁ vipulam utpāṭya bhrāmayāmāsa vīryavān ||
Hanuman, a strong, powerful and fierce warrior pulled out a sala tree and whirled it. Seeing that his attempt has failed.
Dharma teaches adaptive effort (upāya): when one means fails, one chooses another without losing commitment to the righteous objective.
After the boulder attack is neutralized, Hanumān switches tactics and uproots a śāla tree to use as a weapon.
Resourcefulness joined with strength—problem-solving under pressure.
