nāpahartum ahaṁ śakyā tvayā rāmasya dhīmataḥ | vidhis tava vadhārthāya vihito nātra saṁśayaḥ ||
"When I was with wise Rama, it was not possible for you to abduct me. No doubt Providence has ordained this to bring about your death.
Adharma brings its own downfall: wrongdoing may seem to succeed briefly, but cosmic order (vidhi) turns it toward just retribution.
Sītā tells Rāvaṇa that her abduction was not a true victory over Rāma; it is a temporary condition that will culminate in Rāvaṇa’s death.
Satya and steadfast confidence in dharmic justice—Sītā speaks with certainty about Rāma’s protection and the moral arc of the story.
