Some women were fatigued after sporting, similarly some were exhausted after singing. Others were tired through dancing and some were worn out by continuous drinking.
By depicting indulgence and exhaustion, the narrative implicitly contrasts it with the dharmic ideal of self-control—especially as Hanuman remains disciplined amid others’ excess.
Hanuman observes the aftermath of revelry in Ravana’s inner quarters while searching for Sita.
Temperance by contrast: Hanuman’s steadiness stands out against the scene of intoxication and distraction.
