Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
āpāte pakṣisaṅghānāṃ pakṣirāja iva vrajan | hanumān meghajālāni prakarṣan māruto yathā ||
Hanuman was found pulling clusters of big clouds along with him like the Wind-god and appeared like Garuda, the king of birds, drawing flocks of birds along with him at the time of landing.
Dharma is purposeful motion: like wind that naturally bears clouds, Hanumān’s movement is portrayed as an ordained force serving a righteous end, not random display.
During his ocean-crossing flight, Hanumān’s speed is so great that clouds seem to be drawn along with him, and birds appear around him as around Garuḍa.
Tejas (radiant potency) and leadership-presence: his passage organizes the space around him—clouds and birds—like a sovereign force.
