Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
स महात्मा मुहूर्तेन सर्वतः सलिलावृतः।।5.1.103।।दर्शयामास शृङ्गाणि सागरेण नियोजितः।आदित्योदयसङ्काशैरालिखद्भिरिवाम्बरम्।शातकुम्भमयैः शृङ्गैः सकिन्नरमहोरगैः।।5.1.104।।
sa mahātmā muhūrtena sarvataḥ salilāvṛtaḥ |
darśayāmāsa śṛṅgāṇi sāgareṇa niyojitaḥ |
ādityodayasaṅkāśair ālikhadbhir ivāmbaraṁ |
śātakumbhamayaiḥ śṛṅgaiḥ sa-kinnara-mahoragaiḥ ||
یہی وصف پھر دہرایا گیا ہے: وہ مہاتما پہاڑ، جو ہر طرف سے پانیوں میں ڈوبا تھا، سمندر کے حکم سے فوراً اپنی سنہری چوٹیوں کو ظاہر کرنے لگا—کِنّروں اور مہا ناگوں سے آباد، طلوعِ آفتاب کی مانند روشن اور گویا آسمان کو کھرچتی ہوئی۔
At the instance of Varuna, (the presiding deity of the ocean) the lofty mountain appeared, projecting its peaks, hitherto submerged in the water. The golden peaks inhabited by nagas and kinnaras resemmbled the rising Sun as though scraping the sky in a moment.
As a repeated passage, it reinforces the same dhārmic motif: the world’s forces cooperate to assist a righteous messenger.
The narration continues to dwell on Maināka’s emergence, emphasizing the grandeur of the supportive sign.
