ततस्तं मारुतप्रख्यस्सहरिर्मारुतात्मजः।।4.67.40।।आरुरोह नगश्रेष्ठं महेन्द्रमरिमर्दनः।वृतं नानाविधैः वृक्षैर्मृगसेवितशाद्वलम्।।4.67.41।।लताकुसुमसम्बाधं नित्यपुष्पफलद्रुमम्।सिंहशार्दूलचरितं मत्तमातङ्गसेवितम्।।4.67.42।।मत्तद्विजगणोद्घुष्टं सलिलोत्पीडसङ्कुलम्।

Transliteration

tatas taṁ mārutaprakhyaḥ sa hariḥ mārutātmajaḥ || 4.67.40 ||

āruroha nagaśreṣṭhaṁ mahendram arimardanaḥ |

vṛtaṁ nānāvidhaiḥ vṛkṣair mṛgasevitaśādvalam || 4.67.41 ||

latākusumasambādhaṁ nityapuṣpaphaladrumam |

siṁhaśārdūlacaritaṁ mattamātaṅgasevitam || 4.67.42 ||

mattadvijagaṇodghuṣṭaṁ salilotpīḍasaṅkulam |

Translation

تب وہ بندر، ماروت دیو کے پُتر—خود ہوا کی مانند درخشاں، دشمنوں کو روندنے والا—مہندر نامی بہترین پربت پر چڑھ گیا: جو طرح طرح کے درختوں سے ڈھکا تھا، ہرنوں کے بسے ہوئے سبزہ زاروں سے آراستہ؛ بیلوں اور پھولوں کی گھنی چھاؤں سے بھرپور، اور ایسے درختوں سے مزین جو ہمیشہ پھول اور پھل دیتے ہیں؛ جہاں شیر اور چیتے پھرتے ہیں اور مست ہاتھی آباد ہیں؛ جو جوشیلے پرندوں کے غول کی آوازوں سے گونجتا اور آبشاروں کے بہتے دھاروں سے لبریز ہے۔
