Sampāti’s Counsel and the Revelation of Laṅkā
इहस्थोऽहं प्रपश्यामि रावणं जानकीं तथा।अस्माकमपि सौवर्णं दिव्यं चक्षुर्बलं तथा।।4.58.30।।
ihastho ’haṁ prapaśyāmi rāvaṇaṁ jānakīṁ tathā |
asmākam api sauvarṇaṁ divyaṁ cakṣur-balaṁ tathā ||
میں جہاں کھڑا ہوں، وہیں سے راون اور جانکی دونوں کو دیکھ رہا ہوں۔ ہم گِدھوں کے پاس بھی دیوی اور سنہری بصارت کی قوت ہے۔
'From here I see Ravana and Janaki. We (vultures) have a divine golden vision and great power.
Dharma here is truthful testimony used for righteous purpose—Sampāti uses his extraordinary perception to support the just search for Sītā.
Sampāti reassures the exhausted vānaras by stating he can see Rāvaṇa and Sītā from afar, indicating he can provide reliable direction.
Satya (truthfulness) and helpfulness—Sampāti speaks with authority and offers aid to the righteous mission.
