The Mustering of the Vanara Hosts
na cirāt taṃ haniṣyāmi rāvaṇaṃ niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ | paulomyāḥ pitaraṃ dṛptaṃ śatakratur ivāhave || 4.39.7 ||
'I will kill Ravana with my sharp arrows just as Indra, (who had done a hundred sacrifices) killed the proud father of Poulomi.
Rāma affirms righteous kingship and kṣatriya-dharma: protecting the innocent and punishing adharma (here embodied by Rāvaṇa) through a firm, truthful resolve.
After alliance with Sugrīva, Rāma expresses unwavering determination that he will soon defeat Rāvaṇa; the comparison to Indra underscores certainty and legitimacy of the act.
Satya (truthfulness) expressed as steadfast commitment, and vīrya (courage) shown through readiness to confront evil without delay.
