With eyes red as blood through drunkenness, prosperous Sugriva was shaken like the Kalpa tree.He stood there and offered salutations(to Lakshmana) with folded hands.
A ruler who has erred should respond with humility and reverence, acknowledging moral accountability before righteous reproach.
Lakṣmaṇa arrives in Kiṣkindhā to confront Sugrīva for delaying his promised help; Sugrīva, alarmed, stands with folded hands.
Humility and submission to dharma—shown by Sugrīva’s gesture of añjali (folded palms) when faced with a justified reprimand.
