Lakshmana’s Wrath and the Summoning of Sugriva
sugrīvasya pramādaṃ ca pūrvajaṃ cārtam ātmavān | buddhvā kopavaśaṃ vīraḥ punar eva jagāma saḥ ||
The sensible warrior, recognising Sugriva's dereliction of duty and his own brother's agony once again flew into fury.
Dharma demands fidelity to promises and compassion for the suffering of the righteous; negligence toward pledged duty provokes moral anger.
Lakṣmaṇa realizes Sugrīva has delayed action while Rāma remains in distress, and his anger intensifies again.
Fraternal loyalty and protective zeal—Lakṣmaṇa’s commitment to Rāma’s welfare and justice.
