Residence on Mount Prasravana; Counsel during the Rains
शरत्कालं प्रतीक्षिष्ये स्थितोऽस्मि वचने तव।सुग्रीवस्य नदीनां च प्रसादमनुपालयन्4.27.44।।
śaratkālaṃ pratīkṣiṣye sthito 'smi vacane tava |
sugrīvasya nadīnāṃ ca prasādam anupālayan || 4.27.44 ||
میں تمہاری نصیحت پر قائم رہتے ہوئے خزاں کے موسم کا انتظار کروں گا—سگریو کی آمادگی اور دریاؤں کے پرسکون ہونے (جب پانی اتر جائے) کی گھڑی تک۔
Then Lakshmana reflected upon the words of Rama thoughtfully. He honoured his brother's words by receiving his advice with folded hands and spoke to his handsome brother giving out his own views:
Dharma is disciplined patience aligned with counsel and circumstance—waiting for the right time to act, and maintaining commitment to allies rather than forcing action that would fail.
Rāma agrees to delay major action until autumn, when travel and campaigns are feasible and Sugrīva can mobilize effectively.
Rāma’s restraint and trust in prudent advice—strength guided by timing, not impulse.
