O prince of great renown, may God bless you! It is not proper on your part to grieve. It is time to perform the funeral rites of the king in the best way possible.
Dharma is practical: it includes ritual and social responsibilities. Bharata’s composure enables him to fulfill obligatory rites for the deceased king.
Immediately after being counseled, Bharata steadies himself and organizes the funeral observances for Daśaratha.
Dharma-jñāna joined with emotional restraint—Bharata acts responsibly despite intense sorrow.
