niśamya rāmeṇa śarair ajihmagair hatān janasthānagatān niśācarān | kharaṃ ca buddhvā nihataṃ ca dūṣaṇaṃ tvam atra kṛtyaṃ pratipattum arhasi ||
On hearing about the death of the demons including Khara and Dusana who fell to the straight and swift arrows of Rama, you should decide your course of action.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē araṇyakāṇḍē catustriṅśassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the thirtytfourth sarga of Aranyakanda of the holy Ramayana the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
It underscores responsible deliberation: after truthful information (satya) about harm done, one should choose a course aligned with duty (kṛtya) rather than impulsive revenge.
Śūrpaṇakhā reports to Rāvaṇa that Rāma has destroyed the Janasthāna forces, including Khara and Dūṣaṇa, urging him to decide his next action.
Discernment in leadership: a ruler should respond to events with considered judgment rather than uncontrolled passion.
