Khara Mobilizes the Janasthana Host

There are fourteen thousand demons at my command ready to act according to my will. They are warriors of terrific speed and will not retreat from the fight.
The verse highlights the danger of power used without dharma: mere numerical strength and obedience do not make an action righteous; force aligned to an unjust aim becomes adharma.
Khara boasts of his military strength—fourteen thousand rākṣasas—while preparing to confront Rāma after prior provocations in Janasthāna.
Not a virtue but a vice: Khara’s pride and overconfidence (mada/ahaṅkāra) in martial power.
