Sūta (narratorial colophon/section marker; not a dialogue verse)
Vrata: Dvādaśa-māsa-sthita Ṣaṣṭhī-vrata
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: none
It functions as a colophon, formally sealing the teaching by naming the chapter and its subject—establishing the authority, placement, and completeness of the Ṣaṣṭhī-vrata exposition within the Purāṇa’s structure.
Indirectly: by framing a vrata (vowed observance) as a structured, repeatable practice across the year, it supports devotional discipline—bhakti expressed through regulated worship and sacred timing.
Kalā/ritual timing and lunar-day observance are implied through “Ṣaṣṭhī” and “twelve months,” aligning practice with calendrical reckoning (a practical component often supported by Jyotiṣa-style timekeeping).
