वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the episode ethically by closing a chapter centered on aggression (a cattle-raid) answered by rightful resistance. It underscores how adharma-driven acts invite confrontation and public exposure, while disciplined valor serves the protection of what is rightfully held.
This is the chapter-ending colophon: it announces that the sixty-first chapter of the Virāṭa Parva has concluded, specifically the portion dealing with the cattle-raid (Goharaṇa) and the battle in which Arjuna fights Duḥśāsana and other Kaurava warriors.
