अध्याय ५०: उत्तरेण सह अर्जुनस्य रथप्रयाणे ध्वजचिह्नैः कौरवसेनानिर्देशः

संग्रामांश्च बहून्‌ जित्वा लब्धवा च विपुलं धनम्‌ | विजित्य च परां सेनां नाहु: किंचन पौरुषम्‌

saṅgrāmāṁś ca bahūn jitvā labdhvā ca vipulaṁ dhanam | vijitya ca parāṁ senāṁ nāhuḥ kiñcana pauruṣam ||

کِرِپا نے کہا—بہت سی جنگیں جیت لینے، بے پناہ دولت پا لینے اور دشمن کے لشکر کو زیر کر دینے کے بعد بھی دانا مرد فضول خودستائی میں نہیں پڑتے۔ آگ کچھ کہے بغیر سب کو جلا کر راکھ کر دیتی ہے؛ سورج خاموش رہ کر روشنی بکھیرتا ہے؛ زمین بے زبان رہ کر تمام متحرک و غیر متحرک مخلوقات کو تھامے رکھتی ہے۔ اسی طرح سچا شجاعت گفتار کی شیخی سے نہیں، عمل سے ظاہر ہوتی ہے۔
