भीमस्य बल्लव-प्रतिज्ञा तथा अर्जुनस्य बृहन्नडा-रूप-निर्णयः

Bhīma’s Ballava Vow and Arjuna’s Decision to Become Bṛhannadā

सूपानस्य करिष्यामि कुशलो5स्मि महानसे । कृतपूर्वाणि यान्यस्य व्यज्जनानि सुशिक्षितै:,इति श्रीमहा भारते विराटपर्वणि पाण्डवप्रवेशपर्वणि युधिष्ठिरादिमन्त्रणे द्वितीयो5ध्याय:

Bhīmasena uvāca | sūpānasya kariṣyāmi kuśalo 'smi mahānase | kṛtapūrvāṇi yāny asya vyañjanāni suśikṣitaiḥ || iti śrīmahābhārate virāṭaparvaṇi pāṇḍavapraveśaparvaṇi yudhiṣṭhirādimantraṇe dvitīyo 'dhyāyaḥ |

بھیم سین نے کہا— “میں سُوپکار (باورچی) کا کام سنبھالوں گا۔ میں شاہی باورچی خانے میں ماہر ہوں؛ تربیت یافتہ باورچی جو جو طرح کے پکوان بناتے ہیں، وہ میں پہلے بھی بنا چکا ہوں۔” اس طرح وِراٹ کے دیس میں پوشیدہ داخلے کے بارے میں پاندَووں کی صلاح کے بیچ، بھیم نے خدمت پر مبنی بھیس اختیار کرنے کا عزم کیا تاکہ اَجْناتواس کے دھرم کی حفاظت ہو۔
