Draupadī’s Lament and Indictment of Misfortune

तत्‌ कर्म कृतवानद्य कथं निद्रां निषेवसे । वहाँ पहुँचते ही सैरन्ध्री बोली--आर्यपुत्र! मुझसे द्वेष रखनेवाले उस महापापी सेनापतिके, जिसने मेरे साथ वैसा अपमानजनक बर्ताव किया था, जीते-जी तुम आज नींद कैसे ले रहे हो?

tat karma kṛtavān adya kathaṃ nidrāṃ niṣevase |

وہاں پہنچتے ہی سَیرَندھری بولی—اے آریہ پُتر! وہ مہاپاپی سپہ سالار جو مجھ سے عداوت رکھتا ہے اور جس نے میرے ساتھ وہ ذلت آمیز سلوک کیا تھا، ابھی زندہ ہے؛ پھر آج وہ کام کر کے بھی تم کیسے نیند کو گلے لگا سکتے ہو؟
