Adhyāya 14: Sudēṣṇā Sends Sairandhrī to Kīcaka’s House (सुदेष्णा–सैरन्ध्री–कीचक संवादः)

न चाप्यहं त्वया लभ्या गन्धर्वा: पतयो मम । ते त्वां निहन्यु: कुपिता: साध्वलं मा व्यनीनश:,वे गन्धर्व ही मेरे पति हैं। तू कदापि मुझे पा नहीं सकता। मेरे पति कुपित होकर तुझे मार डालेंगे; अतः सँभल जा। इस पापबुद्धिका त्याग कर दे। अपना सर्वनाश न करा

na cāpy ahaṃ tvayā labhyā gandharvāḥ patayo mama | te tvāṃ nihanyuḥ kupitāḥ sādhvalaṃ mā vyanīnaśaḥ ||

“اور میں تمہارے ذریعے حاصل ہونے والی نہیں۔ گندھرو ہی میرے شوہر ہیں۔ اگر وہ غضبناک ہوئے تو تمہیں قتل کر ڈالیں گے؛ لہٰذا اپنے آپ کو قابو میں رکھو۔ اس گناہ آلود نیت کو چھوڑ دو اور اپنی ہلاکت خود نہ بلاؤ۔”
