Educational Q&A

Purification at a sacred place, when joined with self-discipline and regulated living, yields great spiritual merit—symbolically equated with the renowned charity of gifting a thousand cows.

A speaker instructs the listener about the religious benefit of performing ablution at a particular holy spot and observing restraint; the act is praised by stating its merit equals the fruit of a major charitable gift.
