Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya
tataḥ kubjāmrakaṁ gacchet tīrthasevī narādhipa | gosahasram avāpnoti svargalokaṁ ca gacchati, narendra ||
Faithful pilgrimage to sacred tīrthas is presented as a dharmic discipline that yields great merit—here equated with donating a thousand cows—and culminates in attainment of heaven.
The speaker instructs the king about the next tīrtha to visit—Kubjāmraka—and states the specific spiritual reward (go-dāna-equivalent merit and eventual svarga) associated with that pilgrimage.
