The verse underscores Vedic dharma as sustained through regular, time-bound rites (new-moon and full-moon sacrifices). It highlights that ritual fire is not merely physical but a sanctified entity with specific names and lineage, emphasizing precision, continuity, and reverence in religious duty.
Mārkaṇḍeya identifies a particular sacrificial fire associated with the Darśa and Paurṇamāsa rites, stating its name as ‘Viṣṇu,’ noting its Aṅgiras affiliation, and giving its alternate name ‘Dhṛtimān.’
