Nakula’s Adaptive Counsel to Kṛṣṇa in the Kuru Assembly
sarva tvidaṃ mamāyattaṃ bībhatsō karmaṇordvayoḥ | kṣetra hi rasavacchuddhaṃ karmaṇaivopapāditam ||
The verse stresses moral agency: outcomes in the ethical ‘field’ depend on one’s own choice and execution of action; purity and proper order are established through right conduct, not merely intention.
Arjuna speaks in the Udyoga Parva context of impending conflict and deliberation, emphasizing that the situation hinges on his decision between two possible courses of action and that the rightful sphere of action is secured through deeds.
