नात:ः पापीयसीं काज्चिदवस्थां शम्बरो<ब्रवीत् । यत्र नैवाद्य न प्रातर्भोजनं प्रतिदृश्यते
nātaḥ pāpīyasīṃ kācid avasthāṃ śambaro ’bravīt | yatra naivādya na prātar-bhojanaṃ pratidṛśyate ||
یودھشٹھِر نے کہا: شَمبَر نے کہا ہے کہ اس سے بڑھ کر کوئی بدتر حالت نہیں—جہاں آج کے لیے بھی کھانا نظر نہ آئے اور کل کی صبح کے لیے بھی ناشتہ دکھائی نہ دے۔ ایسی مفلسی سے بڑھ کر کوئی اور حالت زیادہ دکھ دینے والی نہیں۔
